On Saturday, I went to Lancaster to attend the "38 Mack Fire Engine" flash mob geocaching event. Yes, we actually had a 1938 Mack firetruck to gather around. It was a 3-day weekend but I had only one event to attend, which was "Kayaks and Land Lovers", a flash mob event at the Rock Hill parking area in Marticsville, Lancaster County, on Saturday. Saturday was interesting because I went to Blue Marsh Lake for the "Flash Mob - Let's Do the HULA" geocaching event. It was a Hawaiian-themed flash mob so everyone had a Hawaiian shirt and dollar-store leis. I had never met with the Blue Marsh geocaching group before but I'd already seen some of them at other events in southeastern Pennsylvania. ( Read more... )

There was rain in the forecast for Saturday but it turned out to be a sunny day and the thunderstorm didn't hit until the evening when I was about to go for dinner anyway. Since I started out a bit earlier than I needed to, I did some geocaching in Hatfield and Lansdale on the way to the event. • Found "Dead Man's Creek #1" but location is dubious and it is a buried cache, so I reported it and it is now archived.

On Saturday, I went to a flash mob geocaching event, WWFM 3 - "Cachin' Cow Harbor". It was unusual and fun. Until 1pm, we hung around at various locations in the park, pretending not to know one another. Then, at exactly 1pm, we converged to the center of the park.
